The Act on Foreign Direct Investment Screening No. 34/2021 Coll. will enter into effect on May 1, 2021. It will allow for screening of certain third country foreign investments in Czech companies crucial to the security of the Czech Republic and its internal or public order.

Our webinar, therefore, aims to raise awareness of the most current developments regarding the Czech foreign direct investment screening mechanism and its impact on FDI into security-relevant sectors. It will also provide an introduction of the primary attributes and essential points of the Act on Foreign Direct Investment Screening No. 34/2021 Coll.

This webinar is a great opportunity to become accustomed to the newly introduced Act, as well as to receive first-hand clarification from the Ministry's representatives, should questions arise.

The webinar is mainly intended for:

  • Foreign investors, whose ultimate owner comes from a third country (non-EU)
  • Representatives of embassies of non-EU states

Speakers

  • Martina Tauberová, Deputy Minister for Management of the Section of the European Union and Foreign Trade, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
  • Ota Šimák, Director of Department of Trade Policy and International Economic Organizations, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
